Romans 8: Living A Victorious Life — Ps Andrew Fisher — 26 Oct 2025

• No Condemnation for Those in Christ: Paul answers the struggle of Romans 7 with the declaration that believers are no longer condemned. Through Jesus, we are freed from the law of sin and death and can live with confidence in God’s grace.

• Live by the Spirit, Not the Flesh: Romans 8 calls believers to shift their focus from earthly thinking to spiritual thinking. Life and peace come from setting the mind on the Spirit, not on the limitations of the flesh.

• Christ’s Spirit Dwells Within Us: The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in every believer. This empowers us to overcome weakness, renew our minds and walk in the strength God provides.

• Identity Shapes Victory: We are made righteous through Christ’s finished work, not through our own performance. Understanding who we are in Him transforms how we face challenges, love others and respond to life.

• Believing Leads to Seeing: Faith opens spiritual vision. As believers trust God’s Word, they begin to see life differently — recognising God’s presence, purpose and power at work in and through them.

• Rise Above and Live Purposefully: Romans 8 calls believers to rise above small, earth‑bound living. The contrast between “pecking like chickens” and soaring like eagles illustrates the Spirit‑empowered boldness, purpose and victory God intends for His people.
