Acts 3: Jesus – What A Beautiful Name It Is — Ps Karen Scharli — 22 Feb 2026

• Jesus still heals and brings breakthrough today: Acts 3 reminds believers that the same power present in the early church is available now. Faith can become dull through routine, disappointment or unbelief, but God calls His people to stir up expectation, reject doubt and believe again for miracles, healing and deliverance.

• The ninth hour reveals God’s perfect timing: Peter and John encountered the lame man at 3pm — the hour of prayer and sacrifice. This moment intentionally connects Jesus’ “It is finished” on the cross with the continuation of His work through the apostles. God’s timing is precise, purposeful and never accidental.

• The Beautiful Gate exposes spiritual limitation and exclusion: The lame man sat daily at a gate known for its beauty, yet he himself was excluded from entering the temple. His physical condition mirrors humanity’s spiritual condition before Christ — crippled by sin, limited, dependent and unable to enter God’s presence without Jesus.

• Jesus offers more than silver or gold: The man expected money, but Peter offered something far greater — healing in Jesus’ name. Human solutions, resources and self‑reliance cannot fix spiritual paralysis. True transformation comes only through the authority and power of Jesus.

• Healing activates immediate transformation and restored identity: Peter took the man by the right hand — a symbol of God’s power — and the man was instantly strengthened. He stood, walked, leapt and praised God. Healing brought physical restoration, emotional renewal and spiritual freedom, enabling him to enter the temple for the first time.

• Believers are called to bold faith and Spirit‑led action: The miracle demonstrates that God moves through willing vessels. Christians are encouraged to make room for God, step out in courage, pray for the sick, and rely on Jesus rather than their own strength. When believers rise in faith, God’s power becomes visible to families, communities and the city.
