• Serve from a heart of love and gratitude: Kingdom service is much more than performing out of duty, and it’s never about seeking personal credit or trying to earn brownie points from God. True generosity begins when believers serve out of deep gratitude for what Jesus has already done, allowing His love to naturally overflow into the lives of others.
• Invest time intentionally into individuals: Following the example of Jesus—who was flexible enough to meet Nicodemus after hours and the Samaritan woman without an appointment—believers are called to give people their full attention. True generosity with time builds genuine relationships, and material things or money can never replace simply being there for someone.
• Activate spiritual gifts for the benefit of the body: The Holy Spirit distributes a diverse range of spiritual giftings to believers, not for individuals to feel powerful over others, but for the benefit of the entire congregation (1 Corinthians 12:4-11). Stepping out in faith allows any untapped gifts to be activated to build up the church.
• Utilise natural talents and practical skills: Kingdom work relies heavily on creative, technical, administrative, and physical abilities to solve real-world problems and help the community run smoothly. Every God-given skill is a powerful tool to bless the church and demonstrate God’s love to the wider world.
• Speak life and build others up through encouragement: Words carry immense power to either limit potential or lift someone’s vision towards God’s purposes (Proverbs 18:21). Believers should actively look for opportunities to celebrate milestones, reject envy, and deliver timely encouragement that imparts grace to those who listen.
• Provide a dependable and willing presence: Being generous with presence means showing up and being reliable during seasons of grief, conflict, or community need so that no one feels left alone. Committing faithfully to church rosters and preparing one’s heart before worship transforms service from a heavy chore into a joyful response to God.
